The Guernsey Medic Network and Elizabeth College were delighted to work together to welcome Dr Brink, MBE, to Elizabeth College earlier in the autumn for a talk entitled "Bridging Science and Leadership: Public Health and Medicine in the 21st Century”
With students and their teachers attending from all of the island's sixth forms: Elizabeth College, The Ladies' College, Blanchelande College and the Sixth Form Centre, the talk was pitched with A Level science in mind and 125 sixth form scientists attended.
It was a fascinating view into the collection of, and the use of scientific data relating to the health of our island population by our Public Health team, and how this shapes island policy to protect and improve public health. With reference to our own island response to Covid-19 and both current and future demands on public health.
Thank you to the students and teachers from all the other schools who attended and especially to Dr Brink for her inspiring presentation.
