Dr Collin Royed has joined the paediatrics team at the MSG this month after more than 12 years as a consultant paediatrician at Kettering General Hospital in the UK.
While in Northamptonshire, Dr Royed was the renal link paediatrician and had a special interest in high dependency care for children. He also guest lectured on the newborn and infant examination course at the University of Northampton.
Dr Royed is an approved instructor for advanced paediatric life support and was elected to Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2018.
Dr Royed said:
‘What I love about this job is getting children better quickly so that they get back to their cheeky selves.
‘I use every day to learn even more about paediatrics, and how I can support my patients in the best way and look forward to using my expertise and experience to benefit the health of children and young people in Guernsey.’
In his spare time, he enjoys organising social events and, as a certified diver, anything that involves water.
MSG chair Dr Steve Evans said:
‘Collin will undoubtedly provide excellent care for our young patients. His dedication to paediatrics is evident in his previous work, be it with direct patient care or research and education. We are very lucky to have him on our team.’
